Search Engine Optimization

Reaching the top of the search results takes a lot of hard work, but there’s nothing that can’t be done, especially with a good SEO strategy. This is especially true when you are looking to increase your rankings the organic way.

Starting with the basics, it’s important to get the keywords right – it’s keywords that help traffic to your content. So spend quality time on researching keywords in your industry or area of interest on which your content is based on. However, remember to avoid keywords that are generic or too general. For instance, if you are a digital marketer based in New Delhi, you would not want to target the key word ‘digital marketing’. What would be more appropriate is narrowing down to ‘digital marketing agency in Chennai’

Next you need a content strategy in place for two reasons. Firstly, as far as search engines are concerned, constant updating mean fresh content. Secondly, since you will have already decided on generating fresh content, you would also want to focus on not boring your reader with repeat content but sustain them with interesting content – based on your chosen keywords of course.

The next most important step is to monitor and optimize your content marketing efforts. Not only do you need to monitor your rankings but you also need to closely track analytics and determine what keywords and traffic sources are producing the most conversions. This last bit is something that needs consistent push as complacency will see your competition run you down for rankings. This is also where it is a good idea to take the help of a professional.

Here’s something we did for Mothersspace: an online destination for mothers-to-be and young mothers.

In February 2017, we began our efforts at organically improving our ranking when we were clocking 4,514 Organic Traffic Sessions. After 11 months of concerted efforts we are today at 11,983 Organic Traffic Sessions. And we are continuing our efforts. This is an ongoing cycle that can’t slow down.
